Wings Update March 2010 Updates
March 16, 2010
Wings.... - 6.0 hrs
Ok so today I started with fabing up the bushings for the bellcrank bolts. I temp hooked them up and tried out the aileron. Very smooth.
Next I removed the aileron and started work on the aileron gap fairing. I had already drilled it and removed for priming. I riveted the rear spar in place first and then finished with the trailing edge of the wing. Things are really feeling strong now.
I reintalled the aileron and removed the main torque tube to make room for the jig. You dont need the main tube in place for this measurment. The jig gives you a neutral position and then you work off of that to adjust the smaller tube by adjusting the rod ends. You can really get precise with this method.
Just eyeballing it things look pretty close. Tomorrow I am going to figure out a way to use the tooling holes for an exact alignment.
This website was built to document my work in compliance with the FAA requirements
needed to certify my aircraft. My experiences and comments are by no means to be
considered as instructions on how to build any aircraft.
