High Pressure Fuel Pump.... - 2.0 hrs
Drilled the nutplates, deburred and primed the pump cover. Then riveted it together. Finally figured out what the heat baffle was. The part number had faded out. There are only a few things left so I was able to figure it out. Now how does it work. Can't find it on the plans anywhere. Vans Forum either. But then the good old bible came into play. www.rvproject.com. The Bible of every RV builder out there. Used the search tool and bang there is a picture. Drew rivet lines and cecoclamped in place and off to the races. Last I drilled and primed the other pieces for the fuel pump cover mount.
Final painted those parts as well. Then while I was waiting for paint to dry I was looking over the fuselage contol stick mount area. BUMMER..... after close review I noticed that the other 2 sections where I enlarged the hole were not there...... I know I did it. And then I found them. I mounted them both one section in from the outboard ribs. Not a big problem but now there is no room to get the 1.5 inch drill bit or unitbit in there. So I marked them up with a marksalot and I guess I will do it with a cutting wheel on the dremel tool. This aluminum is very thing so should not be a big deal. The drill method is much quicker and easier to smooth out. Now I will have to grind it as smooth as possible.
