Fuel Pump and Forward Fuse.... - 2.0 hrs

When I got home Van's had finally delivered the High Pressure Fuel Pump I ordered. This thing is just a kit and requires assembly. Just what I need.... something else to put together. Is it not enough that I have a whole freakin plane to build here. O well.... more fun eh.

I had the table all covered with plan sheet 24 and the forward deck parts and panel so I figured I would cleco this stuff in place and see how it looks. I will need to drill and debur so this will be a good start. First I had to bend the top edge of the firewall forward to match the 3 ribs that hold the panel and the subpanel in place. I got the saw out and cut 2 strip of wood and clamped them in place with 3 clamps to make a sort of brake setup. Once in place I bent the stainless forward and it seems to of worked out fine. I clecoed 2 of the ribs in place and added the panel to take some pictures of how it will look. I just had to tape a picture of the AF-3400 EFIS in place to make it look like a real panel.

The center rib is going to be a chore to slip into place but I need to fabricate a stiffener and an angle that gets riveted to the rib so no need to try to get it in place just yet.
