More Panel Drilling.... - 3.0 hrs

Tonight I was going to drill the screw holes. Should be quick right. Just drop in the jig and match drill. WRONG. Even though the holes were just slightly tight. It took considerable time to hone out the holes to allow the instrument to slip in place.

I ordered these install kits from Spruce which include a ring with nuts and matching screws. These wouldn't even fit over the insturments either. Had to use the sanding drum and scotchbrite wheel to make these fit as well. It was slow going overall but I didn't want to get this far and screw something up and have to order another panel to start over.

I can't believe how much time I have in this panel so far but it is coming out nice. The last thing I did was using a scotchbrite pad on the pneumatic tool to polish it up for prime and paint. Well one last thing. Notice there is a missing screw hole on the middle 3 1/4 hole on the right. That is for the knob on the backup altimeter. Have to cut a knotch for this.

I think I will go with a slight textured no gloss black finish. Since my EXP2Bus is already labeled I don't need to worry about switch labels so it should look nice.
