Fuselage September 2007 Updates
September 2, 2007
Electrical Stuff.... - 2.0 hrs
I am going with the Firewall Passthru from SafeAir1. These things are the way to go. You get a stainless spun one piece passthru with a stainless backing ring complete with pyro-sleeve and clamps. First class way to go for passing all of your wires thru the firewall. I am using 2. One for the power wires and the other for the engine sensors, etc going to the EFIS box.
Once these were installed I installed the ground blocks. I used 2 24 connection blocks back to back. I won't need many for the engine side but backing them together and passing the bolts thru both sides makes for a strong clean installation. I put the engine ground cable on temporarily.
Next I installed the comm antenna. I used the bent whip style as this creates very little drag.
This website was built to document my work in compliance with the FAA requirements
needed to certify my aircraft. My experiences and comments are by no means to be
considered as instructions on how to build any aircraft.
