Yippee.... Avionics are In!.... - 0.0 hrs

Today is a great day. I got the first part of the Avionics in from FastStack. I met Tim Hass at SunNFun this year. This system from Approach FastStack is just what I needed. They make all of the harnesses for the idividual pieces which end up tieyng back to a central point called the ??Hub.

The AF-3500 EFIS panel and engine sensor kit is just now starting to ship. Hopefully it will be here the first of the year. The quality of the work on the harnesses looks awesome. If this all works correctly all I should have to do is mount the hub somewhere behind the panel. Install the avionics and instruments in the panel. And then plug in the harnesses from the labled parts and back to the hub. The hub is labled at each connector. The only thing I will have to figure out is running the power and ground to each component. This is the closet thing to plug and play I have ever seen.

In the future if I make any changes or add any additional components like an additional comm or nave radio I just order the harness from FastStack and plug into the correct port and it should talk to the other pieces seamlessly. Hopefully this will keep me from blowing anything up and being successful in record time.
