Headset Jacks and Wiring.... - 5.0 hrs

Yesterday I Dad and I went over to Jim's to start his engine again. This time was perfect. He ran it at 1000 rpm for 3 minutes and then shut it down with the mixture control. PERFECT JIM!

While I was there he gave me some pointers on how he did the fiber glass bottom for the rudder. Today I cut the hole in the back with a hole saw and then filed it out a bit. I need to find the plan sheet to continue on so I started on something else.

I had decided to install the headset jacks in the side ribs just in front of the 704 bulkhead. This is just in front of the wing spar area. I drilled the holes up high so they won't show much. When you have your own plane you end up leaving the headsets in it so this should work well. I ran the wires from the audio panel thru rubber grommets. Once that was done I could see it would be much better to re run the wire thru the grommets so I pulled the wired out from the tail and redrilled the grommet holes for the next larger size and reran all of the wires thru the panel ribs.

Last I mounted the current limiter fuse on the firewall and fabbed up another copper connector to run from the relays. The other side of the fuse will run to the alternator.
