Fuselage November 2007 Updates

GPS Install and Misc.... - 2.0 hrs
Didn't get any work done on the plane this weekend. Derek had city bowling tournament way across town so spent alot time driving Saturday and Sunday.
Tonight I installed the left and right panels again for fit and to see the best way to start wiring things up. I am looking at installing a drop down panel on the right side between the panel frame and the subpanel. The thought here is to install contact strips on this drop down panel and run all wires to here. Then everything from here to the E2bus could be bundled and brought over to the final connections there.
If I ever have a problem with the E2bus it would be easy to remove and unplug wires to replace or if I ever decided to change from this config to standard fuses I could mount the fuse panels to the drop down panel. This would minimize reconfig impact. Also installed the GPS and checked how the antenna and power fittings would fit in the Airgizmo install bracket.
Well it was getting too late to start cutting metal so Jim K stopped by for a beverage and give me some ideas to move on with. When I get the power run I will want to test the fuel pump so I bought some unions and fabbed up some alum tube flared fittings to connect tubing to. Also picked up some gas cans which will be needed to caliberate the fuel sensors. When I test the fuel pump I will put a can on each side where the fuel tanks will connect at the fuselage. Also one can at the front will connect at the firewall where the fuel will go to the engine. With the pump on I can move the switch thru its left right positions and check for fuel flow to a can in the front and check for leaks at all of the fuel pump flares.
This website was built to document my work in compliance with the FAA requirements
needed to certify my aircraft. My experiences and comments are by no means to be
considered as instructions on how to build any aircraft.
