Wiring and Last Fuel Line.... - 8.0 hrs
Today I installed some more wiring and added some of the harnesses from Approach Faststack. I installed the panel from again and checked for clearance for the 3500 screen and wiring plugs. Looks good to go now. I drilled another hole above the pitot and static holes for the top DB25 plug.
I removed the panel frame and started installing the harness connections on the back of the radio stack. Its going to be a bit tricky sliding this into place with all of these wire bundles but no other way to do it. I riveted in the stiffener I made to support the Comm Radio in the subpanel.
Last I wanted to get the last fuel line ran from the firewall to the fuel pump. I never received the backordered fitting from AN Fittings to make up the flex fuel line so I thought I would give it one more try to bend some alum tubing. Well the first attempt came out perfect. Except the back bend would not fit between the pump connection and the wing spar. The second attempt well lets just say both pieces of tubing are setting in the trash can now.
So next after much head scratching and comparing the end connectors that I have for the flex hose I was able to see a way to make up a flex line for this last connection. This is the main fuel line running from the pump to the firewall so the key is to get it done now before the center section gets closed up before the panel frame goes back in. This one turned out great. Once the panel is wired up I will check the pump and all fuel fittings for leaks by pumping fuel from both sides out through the bulkhead fitting in the firewall.
