More EFIS work.... - 5.0 hrs

Well it was time to get this rib behind the EFIS trimed so I can move this project forward. While I was thinking about how I was going to attack this issue I went ahead and installed the parking brake cable and the heater valve heater on the other side of the panel by drilling holes in the subpanel to pass the cables thru. The pic shows them going thru the firewall wiring pass thru but that is just to keep them out of the way for now.

Next I drilled a hole for the EFIS cable bundle and the Engine EGT and CHT cable bundle to pass thru the subpanel and used grommets to protect the wires. This should work good here.

Then Jon showed up and we started to work on removing the rivets holding the angles we needed to remove and we fabbed up new angles for the top and one along the subpanel for strength. I used a cutoff wheel on the dremel tool to cut the rib all the way to the subpanel. Then we drilled the angles for riveting. Once these were riveted in place it is really strong. Tomorrow I will continue on and make sure everyting fits.
