EFIS Test Fit.... - 2.0 hrs

Houston we have a problem. I stopped by the hangar Saturday to check on things. Derek and I had other things to do so I was just going to test fit the Advance Flight Systems 3500 in the panel and check how I was going to run the cables to the ProG hub. Not sure how this happened as I know I had measured but the shells on the harnesses are not going to fit with the rib that I trimmed.

I called Jim K to come and take a look at it to pick his brain. Jon showed up as well and the only thing we can think of is to trim it back to the subpanel and put some angles running up the subpanel for strength and rigidity.

I will start that project sometime this week. I went ahead and drilled some holes to run the pitot and static tubing behind the subpanel. I used grommets to protect the tubing. There was no way I was going to try to tube up the instruments right behind the gauges in that cramped space.
