Moving to the Hangar - 3 hr

Thanks to Rick and Cannonball Trucking the bird is in the nest. Rick and Kim picked up the truck at Cannonball this morning and Jon Baker and my dad helped me get things ready to move. I couldn't do much since I hurt my back yesterday. About all I could do is push the buttons on the lift. This kind of truck would be a problem if the engine and gear were already on but we were able to get the front of the rotating stand on the lift. As I raised the lift up to the truck level Rick walked the front onto the truck and Kim, Jon and Dad walked the rear stand to the back of the lift. Once on the truck they used a ladder to climb onto the back of the lift and then walked it into the middle of the truck.

Rick used wide straps to hole the stand in place. He put one more strap over the center cabin areal to steady the slight rotation. We put a bolt in the front of the stand to lock the rotation and taped it in place. Then it was ready for the short ride to the airport. Its all back roads out of the subdivision and a short ride down the frontage road along Hwy 290 to Weiser.

Once we got to the airport my hangar neighbor Gary was working on preping for painting his deck. He jumped right in to help and then Geoff Kimbrough showed up as we were walking it down from the truck. Thanks to everyone it is now safely in its new home. Now I got get a few final things done in the plane and it will be time to get it on the gear and then mount the engine. Yippee!!!
