Fuselage March 2006 Updates March 16, 2006 Bending the Rightside Corner - 2 hrs Tonight I wanted to drill the armrests and at least bend one of the corners on the sideskins. I drilled both armrests and removed them. First I removed the rightside skin. Next I drilled the the hole for the step. Now it was time to bend the corner bend. Of course Dan's site shows this in great detail. I started by cutting some 3/4 inch angle and match drilled it using the holes along that line in the bottom of the right sideskin. I clecoed this in place and clamped it to the bench with a piece of 1 inch angle to bend against. Next I used a cresent wrench to apply leverage upward and created a sharp angle at the point and a slight bend on the wide side. Well I got one done so I will do the other side tomorrow night. Goal is to get this whole section ready to rivet by Sunday. This website was built to document my work in compliance with the FAA requirements needed to certify my aircraft.
