Music 2 jack for IPOD.... - 2.0 hrs

Got to the hangar and I am not ready for winter to be over. Not that its that hot yet but I had to weedeat the grass from the front of the hangar. And all the weeds this time of year. Last year they put about a foot from the building the main ingredient in Roundup. It killed everything so I hope he does that again this year.

Anyway I order this little plug jack from Mouser Elec. Got the idea from Dan C. I have a jack for the IPOD on the front of the PMA audio panel but you don't really want wires hanging down in front of your panel during flight. I wanted something down below out of sight so this idea was a good one.

I ended up putting it on the far right corner of the dropdown panel. I ran the Music 1 wire from the Audio Panel to this location. I figured I would make a quick disconnect with the small pin jacks. Turns out if you want to disable the softmute which mutes the music input when a radio transmission occurs you just press the mute button once and the light comes on. I had tried that before and when the light came on I thought that meant mute but what it acutally does is disable the soft mute and the radio transmission still comes in over the top of the music.

Another neat feature is if you want to replay the last 30 seconds of transmission just press and hold the comm button and it replays. This makes a nice "uh what was that" feature. Anyway you I finished this up and messed with the elevator fiberglass tips for a bit.
