Jeff Bordelon Visit

No building today. Derek had a bowling tournament in Austin. It was his first time and he did great. His high game was 157. Pretty good for 9 yeas old eh.

Since I was in the area I called Jeff B. since he is in the Austin area and asked if I could stop by and see his project. Jeff's RV-7A. Jeff said Come On By! What an awesome shop. Jeff has a great setup with plenty of room. He is doing a Quickbuild kit and I was very impressed with the quality of the workmanship. I have to say that had I seen this before I went slow build I may have gone this way. There is no way I can do it this good. Jeff's work is also incredible. I took a few shots and posted them above. Look at the HS and Elevators. This looks better than any production work I have seen on the Pipers and Cessnas I have flown.

Now lets talk about Jeff for a minute. When I showed up he invited me into his shop and introduced me to his friend Mike. They both were awesome hosts. He said the shop was a mess. NOT... This place was spotless. One of the highlights was getting to see his Fuselage Stand. He demoed it for me and it is impressive. He pulled the locking pin from the front of the firewall area and with one hand in the cockpit area I was able to spin the whole fuselage around 360 degrees. No bending over inside to get to the hard to reach areas. Just get a stool and rotate it in position. Need to clean out those little shavings? Just flip it and get your airhose or vacuum. Needless to say I had to go ahead a get one.

Jeff has some other ideas that he may market in the future. I don't want to steal his Thunder so keep an eye on his site in the future for some of these ideas. They will be well worth it and I can assure you I am going to take advantage of them.

Overall it was an awesome visit. I feel like I have 2 new friends and Jeff was very open to sharing his ideas and tips with me. THANKS! Jeff and Mike.
