Flap Motor & Forward Panel - 4 hrs

As I was working on the wiring in the center channel I noticed I still needed to drill a safety wire hole in the end of the flap motor when it attaches to the flap actuator. Since I am trying to complete from the tail forward I figured I would start today by knocking this out. I used a 1/16th bit and drilled the hole. While I had the motor out I went ahead and put a final coat of pain ton the motor channel and side covers.

Next I saw a few weeks ago in the RV Builders Hotline a tip on using fine point Sharpies to blackout the letters on your fuel valve plate if you get it engraved by Bill Ester. SO I primed and painted the plate and gave that a shot. I think it will work I just need a few more coats of Sharpie in the letters and it will be good to go.

Last I needed to drill the top panel skin and this should be my last debur and dimple of any skins. After drilling the skin I removed it and noticed the center rib that runs from the firewall to the panel was not predrill like the outside 2 ribs. This needs to be done with the skins on to make sure the center rib stays lined up. So I clecoed the center firewall area and the left and right ribs for lineup and stength. Then I used a rivet fan to match the holes of the outside ribs. drilled the top hole and clecoed the rivet fan in place and then did the other 4 holes. Removed the skin again and now its ready to finish up drilling the subpanel assembly. I will do this tomorrow night.
