Fuselage July 2006 Updates

It's Finally on the STAND!.... - 2.0 hrs

This was a big event. I bought this rotating stand from Jeff B at Jeff's Site.
My brother in law and sister came by and helped me install it. I had already installed the front to the firewall yesterday. Tonight I bolted on the tail piece to the rear most bulkhead.

When Fred arrived we moved the fuse out to the driveway and sit it down on foam pads. I cleared out the saw horses and made room for the stand. We moved the fuse back in position and Fred lifted the front while I held the back. My sister Judy held the front from moving while we clamped the tail piece to the back stand and checked it for level.

With it clamped in place we drilled it out for the center bolt and that was it. Notice from the pics that you can rotate it all by yourself. There is just enough friction to hold it in any postion allowing you to sit next to it while you work on stuff inside without the back braker of standing and bending over to work inside. Just think of all of those little piddly things like fuel lines and wiring, etc. just reaching in from the sides. This is going to be a huge time saver!
