ACS Starter Switch.... - 2.0 hrs

EXPbus roadblock un-blocked! First off no pictures except for the new sign my son Derek got me for Christmas. Way cool.

Thanks to Joe Cordon on VAF I have my starter switch hooked up and working. I saw a post on the EXPbus and noticed that he was a flying example of this technology so I emailed him and told him my issues. He sent me his wiring diagram and some suggestions which helped me solve the lack in documentation from Control Vision.

Instead of pulling power from MB2 the EXP2bus has a switch marked ign. This is supposed to be an 11amp switched circuit. I hooked up the #3 wire to this switch. I hooked up the starter solenoid to the #4 wire and also passed a connection to the STRT tab on the EXPBus. When I turn the master switch on you hear the master solenoid click. Flip the IGN switch on and then turn the key to start. When you get to start you hear the starter solenoid click. Also since the power wire goes to the STRT tab if the avionics master is on when you reach the start position with the key anything on the avionics bus shuts off. I think my start process will be to turn on master and ign switch. Start the engine. Then power up avionics master.

Now I just need the radio side coax connections done and the push to talk buttons for the pilot and co-pilot sticks.

The rest of the engine management stuff will need the engine hung first.
