More Firewall Work - 3 hrs

Well the swim meet was great! Actually the girls platform diving was pretty good also. At least that is what Derek was checking out. Daniel did great. He sure has alot of competition swimming at SMU.

While cutting the 2 inch hole I ended up with a bit of a tear in the stainless. I used a carbide bit to even out the hole which made it a bt larger on the bottom right of the hole. I decided it would be best to make a back plate. I used the template that came with the heat valve and cut a backplate out of 032 aluminum and cut the 2 inch hole to match. This will sandwich the firewall in between the valve and the backplate. Until the stainless bolts come in that I ordered to attach the heat valve I used AN bolts to hold it in place.

Next I drilled out the rivets according to the plansheet to bolt on the battery box. This attached perfect.

Now it is time to mount the master solenoid and starter solenoid. The bulkhead plate did not match up to the bolt pattern on the 2 solenoids. I will remake it and rivet it in place and then drill thru the firewall and bulkhead after marking the proper bolt pattern.
