Fuselage December 2006 Updates

Controls installation.... - 4 hrs

Finally got back to the contols installation. First I started with the cross control again but started noticing how hard it was going to be to get those little tiny silver washers in there with the cross over installed. I tried the fishing line thing but that didn't work. Again the rotating fuse stand came to the rescue. With this thing rotated on the side I was able to slide them in while pushing the AN bolt in place. The second side was harder since it now had pressure from the stick controls but I was able to stick the last washer to a piece of tape and with Derek holding the pilot side stick in the neutral position I got it in.

Next I started dry fitting the pilot side 5th point or crotch strap bracket. The instructions are pretty good on this subkit from Van's. I can tell they are starting to upgrade some of the subkit instructions to the new format I have seen on the newer kits like the RV10. I bet the RV12 plans and manual will be awesome. As usual it takes some getting back into the flow once you are away from the project for any length of time. This all took a lot longer than I would like but hey one more step in the process.
