Forward Fuselage Structure - 5 hrs

Back to it. I completed match drilling the bottom skin to the bottom angles. Next I marked the bottom stiffeners and match drilled those in place. You also have to drill 3 holes in the angle on the back of the firewall and the cover angles on the front of the 704 bulkhead. I forgot the names of these parts. O well I drilled them anyway. I can't believe this is taking this long. I know I did alot of drilling as the compressor came on about 6 times.

If you are building a slow build kit you just have to follow Dan's site. www.rvproject.com. This is the most complete set of instructions anywhere. I bought his site when he first completed his plane. I have used it so much since and emailed him so much that I may just buy it again. There is no way to build one of these planes from the plans without using Dan's site. And remember he did this when there was hardly anyone out there.

I finally got the F-684 gusset that I screwed up in from Van's so I will fab that and the tank bracket tomorrow. Also will install the baggage area bulkheads and then it will be time to tear this stuff apart and debur, scotchbrite, prime and get ready for riveting..... you know the drill. Put it all together to just take apart again. Then give Jon a call for a giant rivet session.....

This website was built to document my work in compliance with the FAA requirements needed to certify my aircraft.
My experiences and comments are by no means to be considered as instructions on how to build any aircraft.
