Top Cowl Inlets.... - 3.0 hrs

Today I cut some foam insulation pieces to fill the area under the inlet pieces. This will give some real stiffness and will not need to be fiberglassed.

Next I mixed up some epoxy with micro balloons and cabosil. Don's posts on VAF are right on with the cabosil mixture. It still allows it to be sandable but the mixture is easy to work and smooth while not dripping and flowing. Before I started using the cabosil it was pretty messy.

I used just epoxy mixture first to hold the pieces in place and then filled the gaps with a thick mixture.

Once that cured I mixed up another batch of a thicker mixture with a bit more cabosil. This ended up like cake frosting. I filled in the rest of the holes and then smoothed it flat with a Itunes card. This cured very solid so I don't really see a need to put any glass over it.
