Painted Nose Gear Fairing and Front Wheel Fairing and Misc...... - 4.0 hrs
Repainted the front nosegear fairing and wheel fairing in silver to match the cowl. I decided to use tinnerman washers for strength. Looks ok. If I go with the new NG mod on VAF I will just fab up the new fairing and install. Should only take an hour or so.
Next I installed the new elevator weight to balance the right elevator. Looks good now.
Next I played with the bottom of the cowl stiffener I made up long ago. Because of the steep rise for the horizontal induction cowl there is not much room to drill and mount screws in the bracket or the engine mount web. This is going to take some creative thinking. I cannot find via searches on VAF on how anyone did this. Most likely they either left it off or rigged it and won't show how they did it.
I may use hex heads instead of screws so I can get a small wrench head on them. Still have the trick on how to drill the holes.
Also tried out some #4 torx screws on the wingtips as some have suggested. I think this will be a good idea.
This website was built to document my work in compliance with the FAA requirements
needed to certify my aircraft. My experiences and comments are by no means to be
considered as instructions on how to build any aircraft.
