More Tank Brackets ..... - 3.0 hrs

Now I know why they suggest you temp install the wings and then take them off and do other things to them. It makes something that would take one hour turn into 3 hours. Anyway I got the tank brackets completed.

With the wings on there is just not enough room between the fuse and the inboard wing rib to get things done easily. Installing 2 platenuts should be quick and easy. Anyway from where we left off the day before we removed the tank brackets to install the platenuts. Useing the bolt to hold them in place I drilled the 2 rivet holes. The trick was to do the counter sinking with the deburring tool. Jon B has my counter sink cage with the #40 counter sink tool. It took a while but I finally got it done.

Next I move on to the right side. Same drill as before. Until I went to put the bolt in. It was a hair off. The bolt would just start and then release. I made several attempts and then decided to drill out and reposition. This is what really took the time. Anyway once it was redone I got the bolt started. Then I climbed back in and dad tighted up the bracket nuts from the outside.

Another job complete under the watchful eye of Master Chief Tolliver USN Ret. As you can see he is really keeping an eye on things! :)
