Canopy lock and Left Wing Tip ..... - 2.0 hrs

I received a canopy lock I ordered. This slides over the sliding track. You drill a hole about a quarter inch into the track and a pin screws down into the tack holding the block in place. I like the fact that it is a combo lock and will not need a key to carry around.

Arrived at the hangar this morning to get some work in before I had to go to a wedding. I worked on the left tip somemore. I used the long sanding block to work the edges down on the bottom to get a tighter fit.

I also marked the screw holes so I could see the best position for the Archer antenna. I want the nutplates to grab the edge that butts against the edge of the wing. This will provide a good ground. The 3 clamps are for routing the wires so I fabbed up a wire for the strobe by cutting the tips off and using butt splices. Then I installed some heat shrink over the top. This wire will run down the front edge along with the LED wiring. The coax for the antenna will come in from the backside.

Next I will drill the tip in place and screw and glue the antenna down to secure it before I rivet in the nutplates from the Cleaveland wing tip kit.
