New fuel line install.... - 2.0 hrs
My new fuel lines came in on Thursday. With mounting the fuel flow sensor on the firewall I needed one new short line to run from the pump to the sensor and then the extra distance from the sensor to the injector body made it necessary to order a longer 27 inch line. I ordered these thru PHT www.aircrafthose.com. I ordered on Monday and they were here Thursday UPS ground. Now that is service baby!
I had to try a few variations to make sure the hoses were not rubbing on something like the engine mount, air intake tubes, etc. The slightest contact would just wear on the molded firesleeve. These hoses are not the typical firesleeve. Its molded over the stainless braided lines. Just like the lines that came with the engine.
Once I figured out the best way I used some adel clamps to hold the long one in position to stop any contact points. On the short one I just positioned the 2 flare points to cause the hose to bend into an open area. Should work out nice.
Next I used the debur tool to counter sink the rivet holes on the gear leg fairings. They are ready to rivet now.
This website was built to document my work in compliance with the FAA requirements
needed to certify my aircraft. My experiences and comments are by no means to be
considered as instructions on how to build any aircraft.
