Brake pad bolts and pants.... - 5.0 hrs

Shot some primer on the elevator tips so they are almost finished.

Went to the hangar to work on replacing the bolts that hold the wheel pad brackets to the brake mechanism. The 3 bolts had no threads showing past the nuts so I ordered replacements from Spruce. I removed the 2 bolts holding the brake pads and then the bolts to be replaced. I remember when I made the spacers I could of made them smaller to reduce the space but I think this is really the best solution.

Once the bolts were replaced I reinstalled the wheel and pad bolts. Next I drilled the hole in the big nut holding the wheel on to allow a large cotter pin to be installed. This took some doing because the tire bulge doesn't allow a straight shot thru the large bolt. Anyway I finally got it done and installed the bigass cotter pin.

I worked on the elevator tips som more. Sanding and priming. Should be just about ready. When I got home I hung up my RV 8 Picture in the home office. Man this thing came out big. The 7 slider should be coming anytime. I am going to get it framed the same way. I may end up hanging it on the front wall over the desk and moving the UT stuff to the back wall. Just have to see.
