Canopy drilling and final trim to the rear...... - 5.0 hrs

Ok finally warmed up enough today to get back to the canopy and its Presidents day so I had off work. Pulled the crate out in front of the hangar and fired up the generator.

First I marked the front and rear bow on 2 inch spacing. Next I drilled each hole to #40. Removed the canopy from the frame and drilled each hole with a plexi bit to #30. Next I used a #30 countersink tool on each hole.

Next I drilled each hole on the front are rear bows of the canopy frame to #30. Dimpled the middle alum strip and checked the fit to the canopy. Deburred the canopy frame to clean up the holes.

Installed the frame to the fuselage. Clecoed the canopy in place on the frame and checked the rear bow and the front bow to the windscreen. It appears there are several low spots that will need to be shimmed up to match the windscreen.
