More Wheel Pants and Gear Fairings.... - 6.0 hrs

Ok enough fun for yesterday now back to work. Started out today on the gear fairings. Last check for fit and final triming. I cut the hinges to fit at 25 inches and marked the rivet holes at 1.5 inches. Drilled the on the press and deburred.

Next I drilled the brackts for the front wheel. Used a step drill to 5/8. Will still have to open a bit to 21/32. What is up with that crap Vans!

Moved back to fiberglass work on the wheel pants. Did a bit more triming and checking on the tire clearance. Then I mixed up a batch of beads, flox and cabosil per Don Hortons post on VAF on how to make a clean seam. Once it set up I used a scotchbrite disk to smooth the surface and I think this is going to workout. I need to do some wetdry sanding to clean them up and then fit the lower gear intersections.

Man it was hot today. 99.... Last I mixed up some flox beads and epoxy to fill in and smooth out the inlet dams. I put some peel ply down to smooth stuff out and minimize additional sanding. We will see how that works out.
