Hangar Asphalt Sealer ..... - 0.0 hrs

Its been a year since I put down the asphalt sealer in front of the hangar. Since I am starting the engine next weekend and will be moving the plane in and out I want to get this done to keep some of the rocks from flying around.

I picked up a new bucket of sealer at lunch today from Lowes. My hangar neighbor Mike turned me on to this stuff. I wish I would of done it sooner to save some of the surface that used to be there. We have been really dry the last 6 months and are in a drought to the burn ban level around all of TEXAS. When the rains finally do start coming it really losens up the black top surfaces.

I also bought a new broom head which are really a one time use. You just clean up all the rocks. I use a broom first and then used the blower hooked to the compressor to remove all the dirt and grass for a clean surface to start.

Then I dumped it out about 25% at a time and started spreading. I put it on pretty thick this time. This was a new bucket so it was mixed well and much thinner than last time. The firts time I did it the bucket had seperated and it was really thick in the bottom of the bucket and I had to stir it up alot to get it to mix. Came out pretty nice.
