Wired New Hinge Pin for Trim Tab...... - 2.0 hrs

Happy Easter Everyone!

My idle on the engine is still a bit high. One of my hanger buddies told me that on a fuel injected engine there is a simple test to check. With the engine running at 1000 rpms you pull the mixture back to ICO "idle cut off" and right before it dies it should raise about 50 rpms. So first thing today I took the plane out and started it up. Once it was warm it tried this test. I got no gain in rpms.

Ok so now I need to adjust the fine mixture but I didn't have time to remove the cowl today so I went on to the next project.

I was looking over things awhile back and noticed that the hinge pin on the trim tab was just a straight pin. It needs to have a bend so it can be wire tied in place. I marked a new piece of pin and bent it into the correct shape. Next I marked it to cut to length. Next I removed the old pin. Was not sure it would fit with the rudder already installed but they are pretty flexible.

Once installed I drill a hole for the wire and wired it up.
