Engine Update November 2008 Updates November 09, 2008 Exhaust Hangars and Alt Cable.... - 5.0 hrs Finished running the field wire along the alt wire. Tie wrapped eveything neat and tight. Crimped the wire to the alt plug supplied from Vans. Verified from the Vans site that we are supposed to use the green wire only now. As I was working on this one of the Bonanzas on the field was doing his usual high speed low passes while warming up the oil. Pretty cool. Of course the RV will be cooler! Also received the new longer scat tube from Vans. So I installed it and the exhaust heat shield. Next I removed the canopy and drilled out the rear holes larger and deburred to allow for movement. I have been trying to get the all in one canopy fairing to fit but just can not make it work. The rear seems to fit pretty well so I have decided to go back with aluminum sides and cut the sides of the fiberglass piece and see if I can make it work. I reclecoed the glass back in place and put rubbing tubing in each hole down the center and along the front bow area in each rivet hole. Next I installed the painted side pieces. Last I worked on the cowl some more trying to get a better fit in the front spinner area. I started working on the camlock strips again.
