Pitot connections and misc stuff.... - 4.0 hrs

Today I started with finishing up the pitot connections to the instruments. I already ran the static connections. Now can almost put the top skin on to start on the canopy.

Next I installed the oil breather tube. This is a hard thing for one person. But with persistance I got it done.

Next I started to work on the spinner backplate. This needs to be done in order to install the prop to check the spacing for the cowl installation. I drilled and clecoed and marked the spinner backplate for the area that needs to be trimmed away. I am going to drill a series of holes and then use a cutoff wheel to make the cuts.

Last I started working on the sniffle valve drain. I will need to pick up a couple of hose clamps and then check for exhaust clearance before I trim it to fit. Then right before I left I wanted to check the starter cable. I was just going to bump it to see if the starter would turn just a bit. And this was followed by a loud BANG. The #1 cylinder must of been on the compression stroke and it fired the dehydrator plug into the ceiling of the hangar. I am going to leave that there to remind me not to do stupid things.
