More Cowling Work.... - 5.0 hrs

Got to the hangar about 10:00am. Colder than a witches tit! John came to help and was waiting for me.

We messed with the fitting on the top and got it in place looking pretty good. Next we removed the top and I sanded the back edge to take off the high spots and replaced to check the fit. Looking better. Then we used some bungy cords around the bottom and lifted the bottom in place.

Then folks started stopping by and chatting. Hard to keep the work flow going. Jim K stopped by and gave us some pointers that we would need to lock down the top by drilling some clecos in place. So I had to remove the top and make sure the cam strips that would hold the camlocks in place had the proper spacing. The spots we drill need to be the center hole for the cam strips. Willey stopped by and suggested we use his deisel heater. What a great idea!

We did alot of going back and forth on what the exact spacing would be and trying to keep the sides inline as well. Then it started getting late and Jon suggested we use his divider to get the spacing correct. We decided to give it another try in the morning. No pics today.
