Fuselage August 2008 Updates

VS fiberglass.... - 2.0 hrs

Today I cut some foam and fit it to the vertical stabilizer fiberglass tip. I also noticed the glue was not holding the metal strip to the bend radius in the tip.

Once the foam was cut to fit I used a clamp to hold it in place. I mixed up some West Systems expoxy and used it to fill in around the foam and the metal strips. Then I mixed up some micro balloons with the epoxy as well and filled in even more. Once this is done I will fill in the back side to allow a smooth finish.

While that was setting up I cut another standoff for my last hoseclamp on the fuel line from the pump to the fuel servo. Hopefully I am done with engine stuff until I mount the oil cooler with the baffleing.
