Throttle Bracket and more wiring.... - 7.0 hrs

Time for a cleanup of the hangar today. Having a hard time finding things and loosing time. Cleaned up the work table and found a bunch of washers I ordered. I put them in an organizer tray and labeled them by part number.

Jon showed up and started checking out the progress. I was thinking about starting the baffleing project but Jon said I need to get the engine done all the way and get the cowling done before I can install the baffleing.

So I decided to continue on the other engine stuff. We cut the hole in the firewall for the throttle cable eyeball. This is one of those things that would be easier with the engine not in the wasy but you can't just follow the plans with a non standard engine. We drilled a hole with a unibit for the knockout punch. Once the hole was cut we installed the eyeball and passed the cable thru. Turns out the cable is 12 inches too long.

I cut the throttle part of the bracket off and and Jon used that to fab up the throttle bracket. Don't be alarmed, Jon is not a hired gun. He is still an amature builder. He works for beer! :)

I used this trick from VAF to install Adel clamps. I used a punch to align the holes and safety wire to hold it in place until I got the screws in place. I now have the outside wires figured out and the ones that pass behind the firewall. I ordered the bolts from Van's. Now I need to order the shorter cable and can complete that part of the install.
