Empennage November Updates November 21, 2004 Elevator Skins Making some progress now. Completed the backrivet process of the stiffeners. Used the 2x8 bender that I borrowed from Phil B. to make the bend in the elevator skins. It was just like he said it would be. You put the skins in the crease and press and press and it seems like you are getting no where. Then you move it deep in the rear next to the hinge line and give it a big squeeze and bang! Works like a champ. Then I realized I took no pictures. This website was built to document my work in compliance with the FAA requirements needed to certify my aircraft. My experiences and comments are by no means to be considered as instructions on how to build any aircraft.
