Elevator Completion

Got a slow start this morning but finally got the roll on the leading edges started. This is really hard on the hands. Those sharp edges of the aluminum really hurts and you have to be careful not to get cut. The new gloves I bought from Mechanix are working out great. The .5 version are the best as they still allow for dexterity.

I couldn't seem to get enough curl so I am just letting it set clecoed all together while I work on the trim servo. I am going to try to get a bit more curl before I pop rivet the leading edges.

Even though the servo is for a 12 volt system it says you can test it with a 9 volt battery. I installed the servo clevis with the rod threaded onto it and used th 9 volt to move the servo thru its complete range. I marked the farthest point of each range and then centered the servo between that range.

I used this range to mark the point where I needed to cut the all thread and then made the cut. I used the bench grinder to clean up the threads and then installed. Worked great. Another hour and I will have these babies ready to install on the horizontal stabilizer for testing their range.
